What is AdBlue / DEF?
Novax AdBlue / diesel emission fluid (DEF) is essentially 32.5 % urea solution. It is a reducing agent used in Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6 diesel vehicles fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system to remove harmful NOx from the vehicle emission.
Why are there 2 trademarks?
AdBlue is the trademark of German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), equivalent of Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA).
While Diesel Emission Fluid (DEF) is the trademark of United States’ American Petroleum Institue (API).
In order to obtain either of the trademarks, the manufacturer will need to manufacture in accordance to the specifications stated in ISO 22241 and DIN 70070.
